Everything is backwards in the sense that the world no longer works in the way it once did. Everything is upside down.

  • Religions impede spirituality.
  • Lawyers impede justice.
  • Governments impede freedom.
  • Universities impede knowledge.
  • Doctors impede health.
  • Major media impede information.

I am not as pessimistic about our future as this observation implies.

I may not know HOW everything is going to be alright, but I do feel that it is. Observing how things are and asking questions does NOT mean I’ve given up. It means that I am no longer wearing the idealistic rose colored glasses I wore as a youth.

I am growing into a wisdom of awareness with an optimistic view of our world.  And the more I learn about how things are not the way I once thought they were, i.e. how everything is backwards, the more I realize that the best is yet to come.

Think about it a moment. Asking questions is what intelligent people do. Too many people repeat what they hear without questioning it. Wise people think for themselves. I can’t say it any better than Mark Twain once said:

“In religion and politics, people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at  second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.”

In this post I ask you, how did we get to this point where everything is backwards?
